Boy Soldiers (WW1 short film)

As Remembrance Day is upon us once again, I thought it would be a fitting time to screen my WW1 short film ‘Boy Soldiers’

Conceived by and featuring a cast of 11-14yr olds, the film was made in 2012 as a project at PQA Aylesbury. Since then it has screened at the Empire Cinema, Leicester Square on November 11th last year, and has  gone on to awards success at the Limelight Awards in 2013. It goes to show that a simple film with practically no budget can be hugely effective if it has a simple and honest story at it’s heart. Working with a group of kids makes the final moments of the film, and the shocking statistics about Boy Soldiers in WW1 all the more heartbreaking.

I hope you enjoy it, and please don’t forget to buy a poppy. http://www.britishlegion.org.uk
