In addition to her film work, Amy also works extensively as a Film & TV education consultant, teacher and training provider. She works with UK and International education organisations to plan and deliver filmmaking training to kids and adults alike.
Amy has recently taken on the role of Film & TV consultant for the Pauline Quirke Weekend Drama Academies (www.pqacademy.com) with a remit to help develop and roll out a new and improved Film & TV curriculum for over 9000 children aged between 6 and 17 across 120+ academies in the UK. The aim is to build on existing academy successes, such as Amy’s own PQA academy in Aylesbury and further enable PQA kids to engage with filmmaking in a creative, fun and productive way. She has also been running training workshops across the UK for other PQA Film & TV tutors and academy principals to bring them up to the desired level of skill, understanding and ambition within the PQA ethos.
Each week at PQA the kids have an hours tuition in each of the key areas of Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & TV usually culminating each term in a stage show, showcase or short film production. Amy has been teaching at PQA Aylesbury for over 6 years now and is the longest standing F&TV teacher in the organisation. Many of her kids short film collaborations have gone on to international film festivals and awards. It is because of this experience of teaching and her vast experience of film production, from concept through to delivery, that PQA decided to approach her to take on this new role within the organisation.
For several years now PQA has partnered with Empire Cinemas to stage special cinema screenings across the UK for the kids short films, culminating in a glitzy Film Festival at the world famous Empire Leicester Square every 2 years.
