Boy Soldiers (2012)
**WINNER – BEST FILM at the Limelight Film Awards 2013**
A schoolboy is transported back to the trenches of Passchendaele during WW1 to experience what it was really like to be a boy soldier.
Notes: The original story for Boy Soldiers was devised and developed by the cast (aged 11-14yrs) as their end of term film project at PQA Aylesbury, where Amy is the Film & TV tutor. It was shot in an afternoon with a 2 person crew on a budget of £100. It was a finalist at the PQA/Empire Cinemas Film Festival where it also won ‘Best Film’ for it’s age group. It has since gone on to be nominated for Best Film at the Stoke Your Fires Film Festival, and it won both ‘Best School Production’ and overall ‘Best Film’ at the Limelight Film awards 2013. It has recently been screening at the Imperial War Museum in London as part of the IWM Film Festival and has also screen up and down the country on Big Screens along with several other selected films about WW1.
